At Bennett Acupuncture and Functional Medicine, we offer a variety of treatments including acupuncture, herbal medicine, Oriental medicine, and functional medicine. At your first visit, we will discuss your concerns and create an integrative treatment plan you are comfortable with that is right for you. To read more about the conditions we commonly treat, please see our General List of Conditions.
At Bennett Acupuncture, we know your body is an ever-changing system so we have designed a vital patient-centered approach to treat your needs as an individual.
Most physicians of Western medicine practice acute care—a short interval of treatment to alleviate immediate symptoms of an illness with condition specific remedies like surgery or drugs. Here at Bennett Acupuncture, we believe in addressing the whole patient, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
While we specialize in acupuncture, we are one of just a handful of clinics in the country that offers everything in-house that vitality requires. If you are looking for acupuncture, herbal medicine, functional medicine, Oriental medicine, nutrition or weight loss, we have a doctor for you.
Our combination of acupuncture and functional medicine to treat chronic conditions further sets us apart from the competition. This is a unique approach to better health rarely found elsewhere. Functional medicine—a revolutionary form of assessing your health with an integrative approach—uses advanced laboratory testing, nutrition and lifestyle as factors in determining your treatment.
Here at Bennett Acupuncture, we practice functional medicine to complement herbal medicine and acupuncture in what we call the Bennett Method. This method is a powerful combination to speeding up the healing process and maintaining better health.
Every patient’s experience after his or her first treatment is different. Your own personal experience depends on the condition you are seeking treatment for. After receiving the first treatment, some patients report immediate, partial and even total relief from pain or other symptoms. Other patients experience a sudden burst of energy, and yet others may feel relaxed. In most cases, patients feel a calming satisfaction.
Most treatments take between 20 and 30 minutes, but some treatments can last longer in certain situations. The length of your treatment depends on your individual conditions, concerns and the type of treatment received. Remember that we offer multiple treatment options in our office and we will work with you to find the most effective treatment you are comfortable with. Treatment time may also depend on the skill of the acupuncturist.
Because each condition and its resulting symptoms are specific to the patient, the number of treatments sessions necessary varies. When you come in for your first visit, we will assess the nature and severity of your condition as well as your personal history to determine how many treatments are needed. In some cases, certain conditions such as neck pain only require one treatment. In more severe cases, you may require up to twelve treatments. Chronic diseases such a diabetes, depression, autoimmune disorders, and cardiac disorders require extended treatments. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, it is recommended to visit our office every 4 to 6 weeks for “maintenance.”
If you are concerned about your health, it is important to consult your doctor before seeking any type of treatment. After a full examination and any necessary lab testing, your doctor will be able to recommend the most effective treatment options. Notice here that we said ‘options’. The treatment that is right for you is a treatment that not only targets your concerns, but it also a treatment that you feel comfortable with. Because our bodies react to illnesses differently, it is important to ask your doctor questions about your health. Keeping an open dialogue with your doctor is the best way to choose a practitioner that best suits your needs. When you come into our clinic, Dr. Bennett will take the time to sit down with you and answer all of your questions.
